Aurora: A Side Trip to Dingalan

Dingalan is a third class municipality in the province of Aurora. Hidden behind the mountains, southernmost town of Aurora province is a natural paradise. Though it was a gloomy day, we were still able to see its beauty.  A lot of tourists say that this looks similar to Batanes. Takes approximately 3 to 5 hours from Manila, kept secret by the mountains of Eastern Sierra Madre.

It was raining the whole day when we went in Cabanatuan, but still we decided to go to Dingalan. When we get here, there's not much people around, might be because of the rain and the coming typhoon but we still go and had a quick lunch.

On our way to Dingalan
How to get there:

We went here in a private car but if you are commuting, here's how:
  • From Cubao, ride a bus (Five Star Bus) bound for Cabanatuan, fare is Php 185. Travel time is approximately 3 hours.
  • Once in Cabanatuan, ride a van bound to Dingalan, Aurora, fare is Php 100 and another 1 1/2 to 2 hours travel time.

If you're going to the light house
  • Ride a tricycle going to the feeder port, fare is Php 20 and travel time is 10-15 minutes.
  • Rent a boat going to white beach, fare is Php 500-700 round trip, travel time another 20 minutes. If you're on tight budget, you may want to trek from feeder port to the white beach for 30-45 minutes.
It's not white sand and the place is too simple, but its definitely good for relaxing and breathing some fresh air.

Travel Tips:

  • If you want to save money, you may trek going to the light house instead of taking a boat.
  • Last trip from Dingalan to Cabanatuan is 3PM-4PM
  • If you're staying overnight, you may choose from the cheap accommodations in the place or bring you're own tent or hammock.
